Identity I've learned a great deal about gender and identity over the past few years. Even though it was out of necessity, I'm truly grateful for all that I've learned, the awareness I've gained and now can turn around and teach others. No matter what age, I feel it's important to listen, acknowledge, and accept what people/children are telling you. Usually if someone is coming forward and telling you something so personal about themsleves, it is not a phase, or peer pressure trying to fit in. But even if it is, isn't it better to be be loving and supportive of your loved one than to dismiss, deny, and shun?
