If you don't know, I am involved with the education sides of both Microsoft and Discovery. Both companies reached out to me recently to see if I would like to share my story as a mom to a transgender teen who is also a vocal advocate and supporter as part of Pride month.

I said yes, of course! Today I had the opportunity to participate in a Discovery Education internal program as a panelist to discuss my story, the obstacles faced by LGBTQ+ teachers & students, how we can feel supported, and what needs to still be done.

I was also asked by Microsoft to record a short video on my background and what I believe that those at Microsoft and in education can do to support our community.

I am joyful, proud, and full of hope. Those in the big corporations are aware and they're wanting to learn more. They're looking to have actual allies and parents and those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community teach them, and that is huge.

So proud to be a lifelong and vocal
